Part B

Last week I talked about what it means to displace your abilities, what gold and dust means and the relationship between gold and dust. This week I shall be talking on how to mine out your gold following series of steps “the primary steps”. If you missed the first part click here.
C. How to mine out gold from yourself? There are many ways to mine out gold from yourself but the main reason you find it hard to mine your gold is because you have failed to apply the vital requirements which are DETERMINATION AND PATIENCE. You’ve probably heard motivational speakers telling the steps to find your abilities or potentials, and you’ve tried all that in vain, why? Because determination and patience is lacking, but before the application of determination and patience there are steps to follow to mine out your gold, these steps I call the primary steps while patience and determination are the secondary steps.
A. The primary steps
- Recognition of your dust: As said last week, your dust are your faults, mistakes, present self and present thought. People can easily help you know your dust because that is what they will point out in you, but you yourself will take your time to know your present self and thoughts.
* how do you know your present thoughts? Habu Dawaki said “thoughts becomes things, and they determine your beliefs, values, priorities, attitude, perception and character”, Frank Bucheman also said “sow a thought; reap a habit; sow a habit; reap a character; sow a character reap a destiny”. Studying what Habu Dawaki said, your thoughts later becomes your character, which means your character is the end product of your thoughts and Frank Bucheman goes further to say your character leads to your destiny which means your thoughts are determinant for your destiny. Following what these great men said, you know your thoughts by studying your character and what you do.
*how do you know your present self? After knowing that your thoughts gives birth to you, what you have to study to know your present self are your beliefs. Study what you believe in and you definitely know what type of person you are.
- Fail to pay attention to critics: Now that you know your dust, pay deaf ears to people pointing out you dust for you because if you don’t you’ll be stagnant in your dust state. People will try to criticize you with your mistakes, but instead of listening scrutinize them and check if that mistake is in you, and if it’s there make amends.
- Study what type of gold you can bring out of your dust: As said last week, gold refers to your abilities, potentials and uniqueness as an individual. All humans have the ability to study things if they want to and we examine situations and things in different perspective, for example what is 9 to me can be 6 to you when reversed. When you give yourself the time to study the type of gold you can bring out of your dust you’ll surely see something and you have unleashed the beginning of a new self because an ability has been unlocked. Take note, what others will bring out of there own dust will be different from what what you can bring out of yours but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn from others, it just needs reasoning and timing.
- Work to improve your gold: For anything to work out well, you need to put in efforts and strive to make it look or happen as you want. Striving to improve your gold involves 4 other steps which includes:
1. Be focused: Following the definition of focus in one of my unpublished blog “steps to acquisition” to be focused is to give all of your attention to what you do. To improve you gold you must be focused in the things or methods you employ to improve your gold. The definition further says “when you are focused, your whole being is directed at what you want,…..focus is the only static thing in life except you put your focus in other things it remains fixed never changing it’s form”. Habu Dawaki added ” an arrow shot from the bow does not wander around to see what it can hit on the way. It goes straight to the marker , if it ever misses the mark, it is because the man missed the target”. If you end up not improving your gold after knowing it , it’s because you have lost your focus.
2. Don’t be discouraged: It is easy to lose focus when improving your gold, abilities, character or anything and there is every tendency that you’ll find some impurities, find yourself doing what you want to stop, when this occur it is normal to feel bad, very very bad, but there will be a problem if you’re discouraged and you give in to discouragement. Whenever you accept discouragement, it’s like accepting defeat (self defeat) and you will fall back to your first step (your dust state) because you won’t be able to manoeuvre the challenges before you. When discouragement comes you can tackle it by:
- Revisiting your aim.
- Setting attainable goals for yourself.
- Resisting the urge to go back to your dust.
- Praying whenever it’s becoming unbearable.
- Seeking advisors.
